Book Reviews and Recommendations
I have so many books that I really really want to read before the end of the year, so I’m making this list to hold myself accountable to try to get at least some of them read! If any of these books seem interesting to you, click on the cover and it will take you to its Goodreads page!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that this is a series that I’m really looking forward to reading! I’ve loved everything that I’ve read by Brandon Sanderson so far, and I just KNOW that I will love this series as well.
I read Theft of Swords this year and fell in love with Royce and Hadrian and the world they live in! Plus, the way these books are written is so interesting. Each book is actually a bind up of two books in the series (total of 6 books combined into 3) and each of those 6 books are episodical (is that even a word?), but the overarching plot follows through each book. That means that you could go a while between each book and not really run into the problem of forgetting what happened in the previous book!
I’m actually about 100 pages into the first book of this series, and I really want to read all of the remaining books and novellas by the end of the year! This series is so brutal and I love the idea of three different queens who have to fight to the death to claim the throne.
I previously got close to halfway through Red Sister and ended up getting caught up in another book and I never went back. It’s something that I really want to finish before the end of the year, and I’m determined to make it happen!
Along the same lines as Red Sister, I got about halfway through Nevernight and got distracted. I was really loving it though and I want to finish it as well as Nevernight before 2019 that way I can just buy Darkdawn when it comes out!
I absolutely adored Eames debut Kings of the Wyld, and I’ve been seeing fantastic things about its follow up Bloody Rose. It’s been on my shelf since its release and I just need to get to it so I know what happens! If your reading tastes are anything like mine, I think you would love this series!
On top of all of the books mentioned here, I would also love to get around to finishing all of the books that I started but haven’t finished yet. If you are interested in what those are, check out this blog post where I talk about all of my books marked currently reading on Goodreads!
What are some of the books that you just HAVE to get to before the end of the year? Do we have any in common, or do any of these sound interesting to you? Lets chat in the comments!
