Book Reviews and Recommendations
Fall is my favorite time of year which is why I decided to participate in Blogtober and today I wanted to share the book covers that I own that remind me the most of fall! I’ve mentioned a lot of books in the last few days, so check out those posts for more covers and books that are spooky and feel like fall (links at the end of the post)! This particular post is pretty self explanatory, so lets just get right to the covers.
This one reminds me of fall mainly because of the skull combined with the title. It just gives me a creepy feeling and the girl on the rock just ties it all together. Plus that tag line is just so creepy: “Let me be clear, I never intended to raise my brother from his grave…”
I paired these two books together for a reason: both feature alchemy/alchemist bottles on the front. I will admit that The Strange Case gives off more of a fall feeling than Long May She Reign, but there is just something about these two books that just instantly makes me think of fall!
Another book with a skull on the cover! Of course skulls remind me of this time of year with Halloween and all, and this cover just invokes the feeling of Halloween. Plus it’s a murder mystery, which fits in with the season even more!
These two are grouped together because they are horror/mystery/thriller graphic novels. I’ve been saving these two up specifically to read around Halloween and I cannot wait to read them and get creeped out by them! If the inside is anything as creepy as the covers, I know it’ll happen. Plus, Locke & Key is created by Joe Hill, who is one of Stephen King’s sons!
This one is on the list not only because the cover is creepy, but the pages go from normal white pages to completely black, and they have these illustrations throughout that can make the hairs on your arm stand up! It follows a boys descent into madness, and it’s sure to give you the heeby-jeebies.
This cover isn’t as creepy as some of the previous covers that I’ve shown, but it still really makes you think of Halloween because of the skull. These are such eye opening books into how Americans treat death compared to other cultures, and they will really make you think!
This one doesn’t have the creepy feeling of the other covers, but the colors and the deer head at the bottom just make me think of fall! This book is about a forgotten queen of Scotland, and I don’t know about you but whenever I think of Scotland I think of fall!
Alright so this is an obvious one. Of course my edition of Dracula would make this list! For some reason, the art style makes me think of New Orleans with all of the voodoo, witches, and other supernatural elements, even though the story is NOT set in New Orleans!
And of course I just need to mention Practical Magic! I love the shoe and how even though there isn’t anything witchy about this particular shoe, it still gets the point across that this is a book about magic and witches!
So there are some of my favorite fall covers on my shelves! There are so many more covers out there that remind me of fall and Halloween and all that, but if I tried to mention them all, I would never finish this post! What are some of your favorite fall book covers? I’d love to know!

It was a really good read because the main character wasn’t powerful or have anything that really made her special like many YA books currently, but she uses what she is given to save her kingdom!
