Book Reviews and Recommendations
I’m switching things up a bit today and I’m actually NOT posting about books! I know, I know. What is wrong with me? But in all honesty, I didn’t really have anything else planned today and since I decided spur of the moment on October 1st that I would be participating in blogtober, I needed something to go up today. I’ll be sharing all of the non-bookish things I’ve been loving this fall, from movies to shoes to food to beauty! I hope you all enjoy!
So of course I’ve been watching a bunch of spooky movies, two of which are Hocus Pocus and ParaNorman. I watch Hocus Pocus literally every year so it’s no surprise it’s a favorite, but this is my first time ever watching ParaNorman and I loved how creepy and dark it is! I also watched Black Panther for the first time this fall and fell in love with Wakanda and all of these characters. It’s a great addition to the Marvel movies! And I also watched Coco for the first time as well and it was so cute and emotional, I definitely shed some tears!
I recently bought this GREAT pair of sneakers that are so incredibly comfortable and I can wear for hours without my feet starting to hurt. I included a link above for them, but you can also find them in quite a few shoe stores in the US that sell sneakers (I got mine from The Shoe Dept.) I also got this great pair of boots from Torrid. It’s really hard for me to find boots that fit because my calves are slightly wider than regular wide calf boots, but because Torrid is larger sizing, these boots fit me perfectly! They also regularly have sales too, so if something catches your eye there will probably be a sale in the near future.
I tried to think of some healthy foods that I’ve been loving lately, but I came up empty, sorry! But I have been loving the Special K Pumpkin Spice cereal because it’s just enough to give you the feeling of eating pumpkin, but it’s not so overwhelming like some things can be. I also got some of this Blue Bunny Blackberry Crumble Rumble ice cream on a whim and it is so delicious! I’m kinda sad it’s limited edition, but that just means I’ll have to get more soon. I’ve also been falling back in love with my Rosy Rhubarb loose leaf tea from Beleave Teas. It doesn’t need any sugar or milk added to it, but it’s so yummy especially with the cold weather hitting us now! If you haven’t tried loose leaf tea, you are missing out! It tastes so much better than tea bags.
While I love makeup, lately I haven’t been wearing a ton because I don’t have enough time in the morning to do more than just mascara and eyeshadow, but these two things keep me looking awake! Maybelline’s The Falsies mascara somehow manages to make my lashes long and full and doesn’t flake off throughout the day, which is fantastic! And this palette from Morphe is literally my go to palette, and is pretty much the only one I use now! It has all of my neutral essentials that I need for everyday looks!
I hope you all enjoyed this deviation from my regular book talk! Let me know if you would want to see more of the non-bookish things from me because this was fun doing something different!
Black Panther is soooo good!
There aren’t a lot of pumpkin-things here in Belgium unfortunately. I rarely eat anything pumpkin because of it but I really want to change that. I’m hoping to make pumpkin cupcakes this Fall – fingers crossed they work out and I actually like them, haha.

I love those boots! I’m looking for a new pair myself, so thanks for the suggestion. I’ve never seen Hocus Pocus! – Really need to change that.
