Book Reviews and Recommendations
Hey everyone! It’s been a few days since I last posted anything, mainly because I was so worn out from Blogtober that I just wanted to take a few days off before starting up again. I ended up doing 30 days of Blogtober (I only missed one day and that was because I was reading Kingdom of Ash). Because I’ve been so overwhelmed with blogging and creating posts lately, I decided that I would take it easy today with a reading update!
The last book I finished was Kingdom of Ash (which I have some thoughts about here) and I loved it so much! I ended up waiting a day or two before picking up another book just so that I could really let it sink in. Once I did pick up another book, I chose The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci. I’m currently 288 pages into it and I’ve been enjoying it for the most part, although the romance isn’t really my favorite thing ever.
Then as a kind of break in between reading The Savior’s Champion, I finally decided it was time to read The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson! I own the big floppy paperbacks of the first two books, and with Oathbringer finally out in paperback I decided it was high time I pick this series up. I’ve been afraid of it for so long, but not because of it’s length but because I know I’ll love it and I’m afraid I won’t love it like I think I will. Is that crazy? I’m only 65 pages in so far, but I’m really enjoying it so far and I love how unique the world is!
And the final book I’m reading is The Lost Queen by Signe Pike. I’ve been reading this one for a while and I’ve actually downloaded the audiobook off of Scribd so I can listen to this one while I go about my day. It definitely is a heavier historical fiction than what I’ve read recently, but I’m still enjoying it all the same and I have no idea where this book is going. I was expecting a little more magic than what is in this because it does follow the twin sister of Merlin for crying out loud! At this point, I’m not sure if I’ll continue on with the series because it’s taking me so long to get through this book.
What are you currently reading? I’d love to chat in the comments!
See you all on Wednesday for my next installment in the TBR lows & highs blog meme!
Hi! I’m new here, but here’s what I’m reading right now:
The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Luiz Zafon
Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis by Anne Rice
The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman (reread)

Those all sound like some great reads! I can’t say I’ve ever read any of them, but The Dragonlance Chronicles sounds interesting!

I hope you do end up loving the Stormlight books! The world is so addictive and fascinating (the characters too!) 🙂 I’m trying to take a break from ARCs at the moment, and reading The Monster Baru Cormorant

I have The Traitor Baru Cormorant on my shelves just waiting to be read! But I’m really trying to focus on one book at a time or else I’ll never finish any of the books I want to read!
