The Joy of Christmas Book Tag

Welcome back to day 2 of my 12 days of Blogmas! Its gonna be tough for me to keep up with Blogmas this year because I now have a super adorable 10 week old puppy who is taking up alllll of my time. But all that assidex today I’ll be doing the Joy of Christmas book tag! I love doing tags because it’s a good way to talk about books that you might not talk about all the time.

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I have so many books that I am excited for in 2019! In fact, there are so many that I think I would have a hard time mentioning the ones I’m the most excited for. The first that comes to mind is The Priory of the Orange Tree, but if you are interested in some others, check out my 2019 releases shelf on Goodreads!

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?

Nicholas Eames and his two books Kings of the Wyld and Bloody Rose! These are two absolutely FANTASTIC fantasy books with great world building, interesting and complex characters, and tons of humor! I also recently started reading some of Laini Taylor’s works and I’ve been really loving everything so far!

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

I just mentioned that Kings of the Wyld and Bloody Rose have great worldbuilding, but in order to get some variety in this tag, I’m going to go with Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake! The series is set on an island where triplet queens have to fight to the death for the crown. It’s so brutal and is such an interesting world with the elemental magic, nature magic, and poisoners!

A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read

There are so many classics that I want to read, mainly because I’ve only ever read classics for school and that isnt really an enjoyable way to read books. A few I want to read include Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre, Peter Pan, and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas

Is it wrong for ne to link my Amazon wishlist? Because every single book on that list I would be so happy to receive! The first that comes to mind is the collectors edition of Throne of Glass!

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling

This could be an unpopular opinion, but I was smiling like a crazy person the entire time I read A Court of Frost and Starlight. While it’s not the greatest book ever, it was just so nice to see all the characters I fell in love with just going about their lives!

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

Honestly? Just spending time with my family and watching them open presents is so much fun! I love giving gifts and watching their reactions! This year I think I’ll have a lot of great memories because it will be my first Christmas with my pup Finley! Of course I have to show you all a photo of him, because who doesn’t love puppies?? Its really hard to get a good photo of him though 😂

So that’s it for this tag! I don’t usually like to tag people, but I figured I should tag a few for once. Of course, if you aren’t tagged, still feel free to do the tag!
