Book Reviews and Recommendations
Hi everyone! I don’t really have too much to say today as an introduction, so let’s just get right into my April TBR. I’ve been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately so I’m sure that I’ll end up reading some additional books that aren’t on this list, but these are what I’m planning on reading!
The Bladed Faith by David Dalglish – I have to say, I’m kind of cheating by putting this on my April TBR because I’m already about 30% into it and it’s SOOOO addicting so there’s a good chance I might finish it before April! I’m hoping to definitely have it done by it’s April 5th release date, which should definitely be achievable. This follows Cyrus, a young prince who is denied his throne by a conquering Empire. He becomes the Vagrant Prince to take back his throne and thrust out the invaders. I’ve loved the training and fighting scenes so far and I can’t wait to read the rest!
Belle Morte by Bella Higgin – I was approved for an ARC for this book, and honestly I requested it because the cover is beautiful and it’s a vampire romance book so I’m intrigued. However, I’m a little concerned because it’s got pretty low ratings and I noticed a few errors with just the synopsis alone, plus it’s a wattpad book. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be bad, but I’m definitely managing my expectations going into this one!
Siren Queen by Nghi Vo – I’ve never read anything by Nghi Vo, although I do have a lot of them on my radar! This one I was approved for an ARC, and it’s a historical fantasy set in the old Hollywood period, where the studios run on bargains made in blood and magic and what it takes to reach stardom. I’m definitely curious about this one, and if I like the writing I’ll definitely be reading more from this author!
The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah – Yet another ARC, this time it’s inspired by One Thousand and One Nights! Loulie is a criminal with a jinn bodyguard who hunts and sells illegal magic, but then is blackmailed into finding an ancient lamp. I’ve been seeing almost nothing but good reviews on this one, so I was very excited to be able to request it! I also thought originally that this was a May ARC, but turns out it came out in March so I’m a little behind on this one.
A Dangerous Collaboration by Deanna Raybourn – I’ve been binge reading the Veronica Speedwell series on audio because they’re just SO ADDICTING! This is book four in the series, and I read the first three all within two weeks of each other. I just love these characters and the mysteries are so much fun to solve alongside Veronica and Stoker, and I’m sure this one will be just as good as the others. Definitely a new favorite series of mine, almost like a guilty pleasure read!
The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne – I ended up not asking for this as an ARC because I knew I was going to preorder it and I wanted to read it physically this time, so I’m impatiently waiting for the release date! This is the sequel to The Shadow of the Gods, a Norse-inspired fantasy that had some WILD twists at the end of the first book! At this point, I’m just waiting for this to become a movie because it would be PERFECT as a movie!
Have you read, or want to read these books? I’d love to talk about them with you!
I hope you enjoy The Stardust Thief! So good 🙂

Thank you! I’m kind of sad I didn’t get to it before it’s release date, but that’s on me for writing down the wrong month lol
